Neither one is kept. Someone on the team compares them, then they are erased: as soon as the decision is made, and at the latest two hours after sending. We keep only the result.

This information describes your situation. It never mixes with your preferences, which describe what you are looking for.
Reciprocal: you only see people who are also looking for you. It is not a criterion to tick — it never appears among the reasons for a refusal.
It sets which cities you are offered, and where your search starts.
Only the city is visible. Not your neighbourhood, not your address.
Separate from where you live. Some make it a criterion, others pay it no attention.
On the international ISCED scale: “a 2:1” means nothing outside Britain.
The entry form does not ask for it. Here it serves one purpose: so that those to whom it matters can make it a criterion, and the others can ignore it. Sensitive data under the GDPR: it is stored only if you tick the box below, and you can withdraw it at any time by choosing “Prefer not to say”.

A report upheld immediately suspends that account: the profile leaves search, and no new contact, no message in a conversation and no acceptance are possible any more. Declining, withdrawing and reporting remain possible. A report not upheld leaves no trace on the person reported.

You must know the old one: a session left open on a device must not be enough to take over the account.
All your sessions will close, this one included: you will sign in again with the new password.

A block works both ways and stays silent: you no longer see each other, in both directions, and the person is not told.
You can lift it whenever you want. Lifting a block does not give back the withdrawn requests: you will see each other again in search, the rest is asked again.

What Mizan keeps about you
You can export your data and delete your account. Deletion erases your profile, your preferences, your requests and the messages inside them, and closes your sessions — immediately.
Three things remain: the log of actions, stripped of your identity; the reports filed about you; the blocks you placed, because they protect someone else.
