Terms of use

These pages have been reviewed by no lawyer. They describe faithfully what the service does today, and on that point they bind Mizan. A legal review remains necessary before any commercial opening, and is recorded as such in the project's follow-up.

1. What this service is, and what it is not

Mizan is a service for meeting with marriage in view. You set out a marriage plan, read other people's, and ask to reach someone whose plan fits yours.

This is not a casual dating app, not a social network, not a professional networking service. A conversation exists, but it opens only after an accepted approach: it is a way toward meeting, not a place to settle. Whoever is not looking for marriage has no place here, and we would rather write that than let you find out.

The service is not open to the public today. No profile is published. These terms describe how it is meant to work, and bind Mizan from the first real sign-up.

2. Who may sign up

Age is declared at sign-up. It is checked only at the move to level 3, which examines an identity document. In between, the barrier rests on what people say: a known weakness, written here rather than hidden.

3. The account

Signing up asks for an email address and a password. The password is never kept in the clear: only a fingerprint computed by scrypt is stored, and it does not let anyone recover the password.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret. A session stays open fourteen days; you can close it at any moment by logging out, which deletes it on the server at once.

4. The four verification levels

LevelWhat is checkedWhat it opens
1Email address confirmed by a link sent to itWrite a profile, without publishing it
2Video selfie compared with the document shown; no image is keptPublish, and make contact
3Identity document checked, then not keptReciprocity filter, ranking priority
4A guarantor vouches for you, or six months without a reportAccess to profiles reserved for level 4

None of these checks is in service today. The table describes what we are building: no account has been verified, since the service is not open. The threshold you set, though, already works — the server applies it to every approach.

A level is lost once the commitment that opened it is no longer kept. You are the one who sets the minimum level of those allowed to write to you: the service does not decide for you.

Today, no screen lets anyone move to level 2. Identity verification is not built. Until it is, the four levels describe an architecture, not a service rendered.

5. Publishing a profile

6. Making contact, asking for marriage

7. Writing will never cost money

The right to write to someone will never be sold. No advertising network will enter this service.

If a paid plan ever exists, it will cover stronger verification, a time-limited highlight, and a convenience subscription. It will buy neither visibility in results, nor priority of reply, nor the right to write.

No payment is active today. No bank card is asked for.

8. What leads to an account being closed

Not keeping to them leads, depending on how serious it is, to content being removed, the profile unpublished, or the account closed.

Read the rules of conduct

A report found justified suspends the account at once: its profile leaves the search, and it can no longer make contact, write in a conversation, or accept a request. Refusing, withdrawing and reporting remain possible — a sanction does not stop anyone from protecting themselves.

Contesting is done in writing, and handled by hand. We do not promise that someone other than whoever decided will conduct the review: we are too few for that to be true, and writing it would be a commitment we would not keep.

If the review concludes that the report was not founded, the suspension is lifted and the account works again. Your profile does not republish itself: it is for you to decide to appear again.

An account targeted by several reports stays suspended as long as at least one of them is found founded.

9. What we do not guarantee

We remain responsible for what we do: the security of your data, keeping our own commitments, and handling reports.

10. Closure, changes, applicable law

You can delete your account at any moment from your space. Deletion erases your profile and closes your sessions at once.

What outlives deletion, and why

Any change to these terms will be announced before it takes effect. A change that would narrow your rights will not apply retroactively.

The applicable law and competent court are not yet settled. They depend on the country of establishment, which is not settled. Writing « Belgian law » here without a company being formed would be a claim with nothing behind it.
